So we all need a daily driver, something to jump into and not have to warm up or worry about bits falling off in your hand. A Toyota Celica makes a sensible choice; bullet-proof VVTi engine, chain drive on the variable timing, 20k service intervals, 4 seats, a hatchback and distinctive looks. Nuff-said. This one came with a FTSH, the sport and comfort packs which added an electric sunroof, leather seats, Sony head, climate control and 17" alloys - all the comforts required.
It has served us well, still a low mileage example for its 10 years, the buzzy exhaust note and sharp handling make it fun and there's fantastic back-up from the Celica Owners Club. We would recommend one, but of course we might be tempted to switch if the right thing came up...
